It's Punishment Time!
noCake time.
Hence why I feel it's half assed. A true yandere wouldn't suffer another expressing romantic feelings twords the center of their universe, it would send them over the edge. They would rather kill the trespassers, the object of their affection, and or even themselves in the attempted removal of the taint that intruded them and their intended. They're not going to do anything to lower Cry's impression of them, especially when he's right there. They're going to smile, act polite, and get payback when they're alone with Tino. Why do you think Liz keeps berating and beating the shit out of Tino under the guise of "training"? Even Sitry tried to trick Tino into going to her side so she can drug/poison Tino and strip away her free will under the guise of "strength through science".
Which doesn't make them yandere, just annoying bitches that have a distorted perception of love thats aimed at Cry. I see them as a more violent caricature of your average typical Japanese fantasy harem member.Sitri is a no-holds-barred nutjob that will stop at nothing in the name of research
Liz is an agent of chaos and also partially nagatoro
Sitry/Sitri (japanese Shitori) is her name. Sitty (jp Shito) is a nickname. So yes, they need to settle whethe it's sitri or sitry, but sitty has a pass.Maybe each person call Sitry differently? Like Liz especially call her Sitty? n other call her Sitry/Sitri(typo?)?
Sitri, Liz and Tino all lack the passion and unhinged obsessive desire to be yandere. True they exhibit some of the characteristics, but they are much too passive, and lack the single minded focus a true yandere is known for.
You're only thinking about the women, there's only three or four main ones in the guild (one of them seems to be his sister), but Cry has this effect on all the important guys in the Guild too, like that Hero with his own harem.Tino is more hero worship then anything else. She rarely exhibits anything remotely akin to yandere.
NGL, that just sounds like the social dynamics of a typical harem. A bunch of black hearted vultures circling the dense, brain dead protagonist. Oh sure they fawn over the hero, but a good backstabbing is the only rightful reward for a floozy with the audacity to breath the same air as their soon to be husband.
it because of Krai set the rule for their clan "everyone get along and don't harm normie" that is the only reason they didn't just kill anyone they don't like.Author only half assed it then. Oh sure I can see the warning signs, but they just don't feel unhinged enough to be yandere. Crazy, murderous bitches for sure, but they have too many external fixations and hobbies to fit my understanding of what a yandere is.
I mean Sitri just randomly disappears for months at a time into her lab for some crazy assed experiments or joins some random cult to do some random taboo research. While I do agree she exhibits some signs, she lacks a few of the key emotional dependencies and triggers I associate with a yandere.
Liz fits the description even less. She seems more motivated by alcohol and bar fights, preferably both at the same time. While true she doesn't disappear as often, she acts more likes she monopolizes Cry because it gets a rise off Sitri and can indulge in her third favorite pastime, yelling at and insulting her chosen rival.
Think the scene that best describes my disagreement with them being yandere is on page 12 of this partial chapter. Tino is crying in Cry's arms and neither of them is glaring at her or even remotely distressed at how close she is to the object of their supposed obsession.
Yes I know it's been handwaved away in previous chapters with "your only alive because Cry would be angry if i killed you". But from my PoV, that would never stop a true yandere from showing their distress and or disapproval in some manner, even if it's only to glare.
