I think they do, if only because Mizuki can’t feed off of Nagisa if she dies
Therefore, Mizuki keeps Nagisa alive, so that Mizuki doesn’t starve
Same goes with maintaining appearances at school; if it was found out that Nagisa was being parasitized, Mizuki would be killed, so Mizuki keeps Nagisa normal to avoid being detected

I don't know if Mizuki has Nagisa's best interests in mind. But he certainly likes her a lot. For example, look at page 42 of the original work, after Sae-chan says "Nagisa must have been eaten by the Angler. Thank God… I'm finally safe!"

Mizuki does not like that at all. If Sae-chan felt the slightest remorse, or sadness at the danger she caused to Nagisa, Mizuki would have felt bad for her and maybe honoured that she was Nagisa's friend.

So Mizuki doesn't treat Nagisa as an equal, but I think he cherishes her a lot.

I don't know how you do it on PC, maybe hold the mouse over the Like button until the reaction menu appears?
