What a story!!
Very satisfying in all regards. My gratitude to the scanlator team for bringing this beautiful manga to us. If it ever gets licensed, and it should, I'm buying it immediately. UPD I just saw it got licensed with Kodansha USA and is coming out in fall 2026!
I was always wondering if Hina would stay in her time, making it for a bittersweet ending, or if she will return... Which is still somewhat sad also, since she leaves behind all her life, friends and most importantly family. What a heartbreak for her parents even if they accept her explanation.
But it is very satisfying to see both Hina and Hinako reunite with their lovers and being able to live the life they have chosen for themselves.
I think it was immediately clear that Hinako is Hina's ancestor, but even then it was so nice when everything was confirmed to be linked after all.
What makes the ending bittersweet even more is knowing what turbulent historical events their lives will have to experience next. And while we basically get confirmation that Hinako and her family survived through all of it, for Hina we just don't know... Not that we're meant to, but it's something I kept thinking about. They're happy and together at last, but they'll be facing very tough times later on. Well, such is life...
Grateful to the author for blessing us with such a wonderful story.
