I assumed she made the food herself, and was a little anxious about what he thought of it, wanting his approval. But the reality could just be exactly what he speculated, she was thinking of getting headpats in private the whole time regardless.

Damn man, that brings back memories. Where I live, we call those viendas, and they are made out of plastic.
Back then, it was common here for people to have their own viendas at home, and you could bring them to a restaurant to fill them up with food. The thing is, my mother and my father ran a business from our garage where they would make food and fill viendas for people, no dine-in or anything, just viendas.
