Yin-energy diseases affecting women where they can only be cured by large amounts of yang energy is (unfortunately) an extremely common trope in Wuxia-style stories. A few series use it in a way that's fine, Return of the Frozen Hero uses it and the cure is just an energy core from a fire monster. Unfortunately, the cure having to be 'injected vaginally via penis' is the most common solution.
