Hell yeah, that was a nice looking fight scene. And a funny little moment with Rinne, always nice to see.

That "Graceful" smile... At the end...
My guess: She wants to co-exist, but the majority of her people don't. And she's tipping on the scale of "her people" vs "her hopes"

I didn't really get the dialogue at points. Like with Farlin near the end.
Talking about Io's trust in Jeanne then suddenly something about her coming back on time? Seems like a complete non sequitur.
I doubt I could do any better TL, but I'm still confused by those instances.

@Milanin Or she's a spy. She looked first shocked and then "annoyed" (dark overcast from hair covering expression) about Jeanne shooting through the snake's head.

That comment was hinting towards Io's distrust of Jeanne. The fact that they came back on time, dispite encountering a devine beast, is sketchy. While it does not condemn Io of anything, it allows for the possibility that things were not as "random" as it may have seen.

In other words, the entire battle was possibly staged just to expose Jeanne's abilities and weaknesses in front of people who could use the info to easily subjugate her if and when needed. This ruler guy is a terrible, greedy person. But he and his subordinates may be more intelligent than he is showing.

First, Javelin, I won't say anything about your speculation, but I don't think that's (the back on time thing) what they meant in that dialogue.
So, Swift, I believe it wasn't phrased in the best way, but I think that change in topic was about how Farlin (was her name?) still didn't trust the woman, and Kai assuring her that if she had any plans, they wouldn't have returned on time. Since Farlin was probably going to say something like "Yeah the trust of the soldiers is growing but that woman's still suspicious." and Kai guessed what she was going to say, and meant "even if she's still suspicious, would Jeanne have come back on time if she was an immediate enemy?" also explaining Farlin's avoidance of the question at the end.

Oh great if she is really a spy and wants to kill him, you are doing a great service for humanity.
But I'm betting there's more to it than what she is letting on.
Would be a pleasant surprise if she is not the actual enemy in this arc and is the girl on the cover, but we already got the demon leader as vol 3 cover as a precedent.

I'm just waiting for the point where the Io army finds out that their plan to analyze Jeanne+her assistant's abilities was a failure because they accidentally overlooked the MC.
