He's supposed to be getting stronger/gathering allies to prevent the end of the world. Which is supposed to occur 10 years after he arrived iirc.

Technically no given mission, there is the end of the world on 10 years that he and his group are trying to avoid, but the God of the world told him to just report for 10 years and if the world ends he can recover him, but not the others.
