Japan does not have the best IT, but it depends on when backups are made, and how many they keep.
That and if you revert you lose the transaction history since the backup was made.
This is not a hack, but someone abusing authority they should not have, and they appear to be looking into the logs.
That said there should be records there, but they need to know what to look for, and a deletion is not the same as who added a file.
