Why does a random civil servant have the authority to revoke an SSS-class license, and then a random receptionist at a G-rank dungeon has the authority to blacklist a 'former' SSS-rank adventurer from receiving another license? Does it even matter, since the MC can just waltz into a dungeon seemingly without a license, anyways?

Oof... I agree the MC is a dumbass and the entire premise is stupid, but on this I need to defend him a bit.

It's not like he was trying to groom the girl or brag in front of her. He was just trying to lift her up when she felt scared. He wanted to reassure her she can become successful as an adventurer and that she is safe as long as he—someone who can make 20 billion per month by adventuring—is with her. The way he did it lacked a ton of common sense, but he had pure intentions.

As for doing the same last chapter... That would have been even more pathetic. How was he supposed to bring that up? "Oh yeah? Well, I made 20 billion just last month?" That would be a toddler-like "I have more toys than you!" response. Don't get me wrong, he should have defended himself in some way and not let them walk all over him (let alone let his registration be deleted on the spot), but bringing up his wealth as his sole counter would be seen as totally pathetic, as if he's just trying to make himself feel better with the only thing he's got going for him (which can't be true in-universe or he never would've become the top-ranker). And while his dumb ass wouldn't have anticipated it, they would've just assumed he was lying anyway. He should have brought up his status and demanded some respect from the guy, though. As for his ex-girlfriend, I wouldn't have blamed him if he'd assumed nothing he could say would have mattered (only in her case, though—not in the guy's case).

Anyway, maybe I'm alone in this, but I feel bragging about how much money you make as a defense (or at least as your only defense) when being insulted is more pathetic than just taking it. It's like that's the only thing to your name.

On another note, he should have definitely gotten in touch with his guildmates to tell them he's retiring (and what happened), but for now I'm cutting him some slack, since it is technically still the morning right after and he's kind of preoccupied with the gal right now. If he doesn't reach out to anyone when he gets the chance, though, he's even dumber than currently presented... Or he seriously doesn't care and is completely socially inept.

I also agree that some light bragging about money mixed with the on-top discussion of an adventurer's income doesn't equate to grooming.

She basically fell out of love with MC because she misunderstood their dates and thought it was just "high school dates" despite being adults. The misunderstanding was, he's so obscenely rich he literally turns high class restaurants into "all you can eat buffets" so she was too stupid to realize that they weren't going to cheap restaurants and stuff. This led her into falling for the other dude after Receptionist introduced them because he took her out as "friends" and showed her what an "adult" date looks like. The fallout begins now. Fiance-kun has a superiority complex and thinks all adventurer's are "lowly" and "Low ranks" are even worse so he didn't see anything wrong with forcefully resigning MC. He gets found out and because MC basically said he wanted to retire anyway so don't overly punish them and that a paycut and re-training would be fine, Fiance-kun is transferred to the sticks. Ex-GF finds out and is fine with it because she has an interview with a top dress brand but the owner is literally MC's guild member and she tells Ex-GF that she will never work for them because Ex-GF hurt someone she cares about. Leading Ex-GF to be a stay at home wife. This causes tension because Fiance-kun handled finances and never told her about the paycut and her spending habits are SSS-rank levels. This causes Fiance (husband now?) to explode on her and she tries to become an adventurer to make money (after all her worthless high school BF could do it). And nearly dies, ends up with a horrific scar on her face and Husband shows up in the hospital room to say "lets get a divorce". Ex-GF spirals into depression but is picked up by Receptionist and their other friend, more details in the Receptionist section

Spoiler: Fiance-kun

Continuing from where we left off with Ex-Gf, Fiance-kun was cheating on her with a coworker (shocker, right?). Tells his cheating partner that he's divorcing his wife so she should divorce her husband and be with him. At which point, she laughs in his face, says "my husband may be cold to me, but he's way better than some pretty boy who can only put down other people to make himself look good." (he tried the same shit with her as he did with Ex-Gf, but she's smarter than ex-GF. Turns out, her husband is the branch manager and they're in a political marriage so he knows she sleeps around and doesn't care, but to avoid scandals he's constantly cleaning up her messes when she gets tired of her playthings. (she gets off on ruining guys lives) so they extort money out of Fiance-kun because she recorded a conversation that made it sound like he forced himself on her. He's ruined and is never seen again.

Edit: I almost forgot! We find out from Cheating Partner that he has a tiny dick too!

Lastly is the receptionist. She tells mutual friend and Ex-GF how she blacklisted MC so he can never be an adventurer again and Mutual Friend thinks (that's fucked, they're friends from high school but this won't end well, I should keep my distance." Ex-GF and Receptionist continue laughing at MC for being a loser despite Mutual Friend's warning. Well, around the same time Fiance-kun was found out and punished. So was Receptionist. They cut her salary in half and basically put her in a "he asked us not to fire you. So we'll pay you so low you have to quit yourself" position. Caught in despair, she's spotted by Disciple #1 and brought to a diner where Disciple #1 tells her she got what shd deserved. Mutual Friend shows up and tells Receptionist she's quitting her job because of sexual harrassment so they should become adventurer's after apologizing to MC. Receptionist agrees and they call Ex-GF and she tells them to fuck off (this is before Ex-GF had her downfall), but Receptionist goes to apologize with Mutual Friend as support. He accepts with a "sure, I didn't really care so do what you want" attitude and just gives them the adventuring advice of "take it easy and build up your stats or you could get injured by focusing on money". At this point Receptionist had her downfall and redeption and only shows up occassionally in Ex-GFs downfall so the rest is pieced together based on that. The two start out like Disciple #1 focusing on absorbing stones for stats (making receptionist smarter) and go to pick up Ex-GF after her downfall and divorce, convincing her to join them. Disciple #1, now a recognized Adventuer, shows up at the house and says she has a delivery for Ex-GF (and is openly hostile the entire time) to give her some scar-healing ointment from her master. Ex-GF asks who that is and why would he help her and Disciple responds "ask them, and because he's a kind idiot". Ex-GF finds out it was MC and is basically full of regret but decides to move forward with her life as an adventurer with her two friends.

Phew, that was a lot of typing lol. Feel free to ask any questions for more details or clarifications. This is a great story and each arc is a new disciple with a new enemy and their downfall. Overarching plot beats connect it all together

the cheater bf, get the 'we will not fire you but we will make you', cut his salary in half, and move him to Aichi as punishment, he doesn't know that's how they fuck him up, that particular branch is meant for someone who is punished to stay down, without work to do, he stuck to dead end, he finally can't stand the cheating GF and catastrophically argue with her, leads to..........

dumb bitch who blacklisted MC, also get the 'we will not fire you but you will hope we do', chain her with custodial work for 10 years, halves her salary and a 'promise' to move her to countryside(where I presumed no young adventurer exist also), that fucked her up because she can't sustain herself with the halved salary, meet up with another friend, decide to have a go with adventuring together, ask the gal-ish girl disciple of MC to arrange an apology, MC agreed to meet, accept the apology but not forgive, then the two girl 'ride into the sunset'

btw, they said S-ranker is as important as prime minister, but does not have a lock to prevent someone to easily dismiss the high ranker, not even SSS ranker that 12 only exist in the world which by the stated logic, probably as important as President of European Commission
they allowed the equivalent of local precinct clergymen fired a fucking president of european commission out of their position and bar them from reapply in the European commission
