Kind of a shame this story feels more about Jinzaburo while Choshichi is mostly bumbling around and getting mansplained, and Rokuji apparently gets to be an idle, violent, raging asshole with zero comeuppance.

"Choshichi, you're good at plastering, so I'm putting you in charge of this huge project. What do you mean you're fed up with dealing with grumbling, incompetent, macho drunkards and want to quit? Let me tell you some platitudes about how important your work is. I'm sure you'll feel better while I keep sitting on my ass."

Yeah, I dunno chief.
