P.S.: I'm wondering how working at a cat cafe... as a cat... is going to help them stand on their own, but I'm willing to let the author cook; assuming she doesn't drop this plot thread for a thousand pages like that one where Mio hates being treated like a cat, but not by MC, except she does too, but then also works at a cat care, where they treat her like a cat for hours at a time for money.
Dunno how it is for bakaneko's but stray cats need to be soothed and socialized to not get very stressed just by being around unknown humans, which is a kind of thing that human society reguralry needs you to be able to do.
Cats are crepuscular, as in seriously awake at dawn and dusk. Humans ar mostly diurnal, as in awake after dawn and before dusk, Bakaneko's are a mystery, but they probably either need to move their sleep-wake cycle to align with human waking hours (It's possible, cats, like people, are creatures of habit, and while there are natural preferences, that for some people are strong enough to cause them problems, for most of us routine and training can stamp them over thoroughly, and I imagine it would be similar to cats if they could be forced to exercise a routine)
Also dealing with things like money, clothing, the discreetness of transforming, and just general "observing human interaction up close safely" which isn't a given for non-pet cats.

Edit: just thought of it, but the whole "being very strict when getting others to work" from the manager, may be part of the herding and educating cats on her part, after all most workplace would be quite curt towards people who tend to get disinterested and distracted as easily as cats tend to do in nature, even humans have problems with being "active" for most of the 8-hour workday when they take their first steps in the workplace, and as we heard from Sakura-chan, it can be quite harsh on bakanekos too.

I have a bad feeling About her I swear especially that last line
I actually feel like Miss Boss is pretty trustworthy, though there's probably going to be shit going on in the background (what with being youkai in a modern world and all) . . .

Hires them to act like cats exclusively for hours on end.
Gives them a job where they can gain lots of exposure to humans, have a chance to safely listen in on lots of human socialisation, and do plenty of back-of-house work in human form . . . . oh, and earn the money that will allow them to participate in human society . . .

Clearly, she's evil.

This! Hell, it's hard enough for a lot of humans to handle that kind of socialisation, let alone stray cats, never mind potentially traumatised stray cats like Tiggy. Just getting them used to being around humans without panicking is a big thing, and getting them to the point where humans aren't perceived as a threat at all is massive.

I don't know that they do any "back-of-house" work.

We've seen Mii-chan doing some, Tiggy was supposed to be doing stuff but ended up making a mess, I'm fairly sure I've seen one or two others depicted doing cleaning and stuff at random points in the background, and after closing time there's been at least one depiction of a general call for clean-up which involved everyone taking human form. It's entirely reasonable to assume it's standard practise which isn't shown regularly because it's not relevant to the story, particularly given the very short chapters.

She's one of those Milf/Mother like characters who always keep their eyes closed and open them when they're trying to be intimidating

So I’m gonna guess that their family are the original bakenekos? (I remember a comment in one of the chapters about a bloodline?)

And they spread it out to everyone else so they obviously feel responsible for the non related bakenekos who now struggle to survive in a human world where they are neither just cats nor humans anymore.

(Or at least blue haired lady does — I’ll also guess that she is much older than she appears and probably does have 9 lives like someone above joked about?)
Not sure if anyone has ever said this, but this is my guess at the overarching story so far.
The boss lady and her family are the pure blood bakenekos and probably able to grants the power to other normal cats. How many cats can be granted the power is unknown, but I assume to be many, and they might have toned down in doing so. I'd imagine the reason was because being human in the modern world is not easy so they might feel like they are bringing torture to the cat in question rather than advantage and feel responsible to the cats they granted power to, so they have to take care of these cats and stop granting power to more of them.
Now, the key part that caught my attentions are:

1. At first the boss lady tried to interrogate Tiggy who granted him the power, then she went to visit her father, who said he'll teach his stupid son a lesson. And from their conversation, this son seems to be a rogue who still grants power to random cats he took interest in.
2. Then, a few chapters ago, it was revealed that the person (bakeneko?) who granted Tiggy his power looks just like Mii chan. So... That's probably her father who had left long ago?

That'd make Mii chan the boss lady's niece, and she'd be the first gen Half blood bakeneko (in a sense of the first gen immigrant's child; or comparing to Tiggy, he's just a normal cat with bakeneko power granted to him while she has half of the pure blood in her)

This could lead to some interesting plot point down the line if Nobel sensei decided to go for it.
