I guess "beyond words" fit here. Because his words don't make much sense. I hope a few extra pages will help him explain things.

My guess is that he left because he wanted his daughter to truly live as a human. In her backstory we could see her having issues blending in due to her youkai half. He probably left because he didnt want to be a issue for her. It still dumb as fuck because he could just be human in front of his daughter like lmao its not like she doesnt know she can turn into a cat.

I think Takase is starting to realize that he's going to do the same thing as her father, disappear from her life "for her own good".
Possibly both. Like he might be about to resolve himself to not disappear from her life, and do it by ripping this guy a new asshole.

I think there's some nuance here, but not sure whether or not it's intended by the author:
He didn't abandon them, as in he wanted to cut ties with them for his own selfish motives, but instead chose to run away in order to distance himself from his family in order to protect them.

Imagine a father who's an alcoholic, who knows he's a bad drunk, hopeless, and has a bad reputation: he willingly leaves the family in order to protect them because he sees that there's nothing he can do to help other than to evict himself.

Notice how he doesn't mind Mitsuki visiting him (and appears glad she visited), because she's going out of her way to find him.
This is probably the best nuanced explanation on the use of "abandoned" vs "left/ran away".
I too was a bit confused at first, but a second read around helps.

I think what he means by run away is that as he noted, his daughter as she grew up already started seeing him as a horrible person or a monster. So he ran away from the feelings of his own daughter hating him for his own existence as a monster and he’s at fault for making her like this, ie “a bad existence”
