As of now this seems like a toned down version of Cat in Heat. There's none of the negatives from that story like the stupid cat mafia, but the romance scenes there felt genuine while these look forced. That one also attempted to justify its choice of cat characters by exploring problems a cat could face, such as dealing with the loss of a master. This one by contrast just has a catgirl for gag scenes. Even within the limited 4-koma format its clear the story can be written better (because it already has, namely Cat in Heat)
