Well can't really judge a character based on the first chapter and their appearance they have their personalities and traits

I disagree. We CAN judge a character based on their appearance and looks, even in the first chapter. Stereotypes exist for a reason after all. Now I wouldn't say its accurate ofc, but it can paint a general picture of how someone COULD be.
