Mafuyu is the best girl in this series for me. I’m really into Yandere (smh) and Mafuyu “yandere” face is one of the best for me. There’s something about that face that makes me feel a “certain” way that I can’t describe. So guys, hear me out-

To be fair, he eavesdropped on her conversation about how much she loved Souma Tendou, and interrupted it by yelling something like "Hey, that's me!!" Then she's like, "I've never forgotten about you, if you don't have a girlfriend right now, then I hope we can get along and get closer." And we're to believe that he's so neurotic and so stupid that he misleads her by saying "OK" without realizing what she meant. So she confessed to him and asked him out and he certainly didn't say "no."

Mafuyu would be such a dealbreaker here for me, too, except she's the closest thing we have to chemistry or normal (pre-crazy) attempts to make progress with the idiot protagonist. She's probably better than he deserves, honestly.

Oof, I know that he gave them permission to just stop by, but you'd think knocking would be a given. I guess the precedent was set the moment Mafuyu snuck into his room/bed.

Or even a text, c'mon. And you'd think a piece of printer paper taped to the front door with "-ON AIR-" sharpied on it would solve a lot of problems, too.

I think I'm actually a little disappointed in the streaming setup. I know it's completely irrelevant for the story and basic avatars don't need much stuff apart from the webcam. But these two are professional vtubers with more than 30.000 viewers. So I would expect way more than just a green screen and a laptop webcam.
Still a very fun chapter though.

Zeria totally seems like the type who'd take her gear seriously, but a surprising number of artists in any field dgaf and use downright baffling garbage if nobody's forcing them to care, so this actually checks out for me, even unintentionally, lol. But at least show us the laptop precariously balanced on a bunch of shoeboxes rather than shooting up at them like they're rampaging through the city.

The use of the integrated mics and only ambient lighting for the cooking segment is absolutely unforgivable, though. Probably.

This may be true. Although my biggest concern for this were two girls using motion capture software. I don't think it would work good enough in this conditions.

I wonder. With the abundant free cpu cycles everything has under the hood these days, you can do a lot in software, as evidenced by how well real-time snapchat/zoom/etc. filters work in hideous lighting conditions with itty-bitty front-facing camera sensors.

I know we're probably a long way off from the bad old days of watching a Kinect try and turn an animation rig inside out like a projection of a rotating tesseract every five seconds, but in my imagination all vtubers have to perform in those mocap suits covered in ping pong balls from the 90s.

Yeah same here. I know many small 2d avatars work fine with just a webcam. But in my head it's still needs way more for a full 3d Model. But I'm not sure how much people like filian really still need for there full 3d Model... But I'm pretty sure a cheap webcam in this angle with bad lighting won't also be enough 😅
