Good authors: insert drama in a coherent way with proper build up and way ahead in the story when characters and relationships are well stablished in a clear manner.

Bad authors: longass unnecessary drama taken out of their arse then do a deus ex machina to solve the whole thing in the most childish and cliche way possible.
