It's not very clear to me, but did he put his hand around Renka's back to use the suggestion spell, or maybe by her hips?
I can't quite understand where he placed his hand based on the panels, and I'm assuming a requirement of the suggestion spell has to be almost within touching distance.

I have a question that will probably be answered when more chapters are translated (or if I bother checking out the LN/WN), but I feel that the MC has a certain degree of rizz and charm based on how he carries himself even without his use of mind manipulation spells.
If the story premise weren't explicitly stated to be NTR centric, all these suggestion/hypnotic spells can be passed off as his own inherent charm and social skills at work.
It wasn't depicted how he many times he had to use manipulation spells on the inn girl Charlotta, since the manga started off with their sexfriend status quo already being established, so I guess I'll just have to see MC's entire process when he uses it on Renka and Myris and determine if reading that process was as equally enjoyable than the usual direct form of NTR in other stories.
If anything, I'm of the thought that he would have been able to reach sexual intimacy with one or the other through his own merits given enough time, but the manipulation spells help accelerate the process and reduce the time(months/years) needed. The greatest bonus with the spell is that he will get two birds with one stone.
edit: I also just learned that this series has an english official translation by Seven Seas so I'll def check it out for any differences.

Yeah that's why mind control is in my opinion one of the most boring and lazy hentai tropes. It skips all of the sweet build up to the big plapping moment.
If you needed to brainwash her to get her, then you're not the cool guy you think you are.

Which is why as you say, this already charming and handsome dude needing to fall back on brain washing is weird. He doesn't need to do it.
Seems more to me that the brainwashing part was added there by the author to give the girls a tiny bit of an out for their behavior.

It's interesting that he is saying its not really a hypnotic spell in that it creates thoughts in your mind, but more a spell that manipulates the target to say their feelings. It seems like he is using it to make the right decisions to get the girl to fall (like getting the knowledge she enjoyed the contact) so he can make the decisions that get him the results he wants

Yes they (Tigoris Translate) have tled up to volume 3, I wonder why they haven't uploaded it here yet..

I checked the official translation of Vol 1. and the art is pretty much the same as the previous chapters, if MC's dick is blurred/whited out it's the same in the official. There's some wording differences and name changes but kinda w/e for an erotic story.

I'm getting the feeling that being able to use magic or being a Wizard/Mage in this world setting is pretty overpowered. It's like having the strength of 2-3 people or another party in one person.

I do enjoy seeing MC's smooth moves and all that but the author reminding me that he still uses those spells for the most innocuous things is annoying. Author could've made MC an even more charming person with a silver tongue who can sweet talk or tease the truth out of the girls (easy) vs using a spell to make them say it for him (easier).
Also Renka's case is a bit interesting for me, since it's hard for me to view her current situation as cheating or being a slut. It's like a form of cheating but not to anyone but only towards herself. Renka might feel that falling for another person despite continuing to choose to hold onto those unrequited feelings as a form of "cheating", but she can still be a supportive big sister towards her childhood friends whilst finding a lover of her own. (unless the childhood friends are okay with a harem angle).
I like Renka's design and it'd suck if MC weren't here since she's portrayed as the type of person who would put the happiness of others over her own personal happiness and she may never find that happiness if she kept up the status quo with her childhood friends.

That's pretty wild then, no one will even notice that it's happening if he does it that way, and he also doesn't even require an incantation for it. (except for incantation for the wooden dummies/walls in the goblin quest)

Yea I agree, the author's usage of manipulation/suggestion is kinda meh for me atm. It's like only using the tip of an iceberg of a dark mature theme or using it in as vanilla a way as possible. It also diminishes my enjoyment of MC's sweet talk/charm process in tempting the girls, since if brainwashing is being used I prefer when the target is aware of it but inevitably falls/corrupts.
