I really like the manga adaptation so far. It sticks to the novel in a fast pace yet also feel slower at the same time. Weird but nice :D Thanks so much for the translation.

Oh, if you really really want to know down the line:
This dude really got humbled about thrice by Chinatsu and ultimately by Hajime himself after he incited a showdown between two Satous. He turned a new leaf down the line though and got on a good term with Hajime (but Chinatsu still hold quite a grudge against him lol)

Also, don't worry about the other Satou. Dude is genuinely a really good dude. He has his own headache about his relationship that almost did not work out though.

I can't wait for the episode where Chinatsu draws a certain relationship spider web hahaha.
I only read the web version, and that part about redemption didn't happen. It follows the pattern of most Japanese stories. I think Japanese authors are encouraged to make characters who have done wrong regret their actions. The rate is much higher than in non-Japanese stories.

He spreads rumors that MC killed his sister. MC's sister was in the accident that killed his parents. The doctor gave MC the option to turn off his sister's life support. The doctor was clear that there was no chance of her surviving, so MC chose to turn it off to end her suffering. MC needed to talk to someone about this sad situation, so he told that piece of trash. The scumbag did this to get the MC's position on the basketball team. NOW LET'S BE HONEST. DID THE AUTHOR REALLY THINK THAT A DOCTOR WOULD LEAVE THIS CHOICE TO A CHILD?
Not in real life sure, but the explanation in the novel works for me. MC has no relative besides his uncle who was away and unreachable at the time. Furthermore, the doctor said even if refuses, his sister will die in a few days anyway. I think doc let him choose to put an end to his sister suffering by compassion

Thank you. Yeah, that really doesn’t make a lot of sense. Is the MC completely alone — no older relatives of any kind? Such a decision can’t be left to a child. Also, I don’t know about Japan, but I think in most countries spreading such rumors would ruin your reputation more than the person you’re talking about and could earn you a well-deserved fist to the face.

It begins in volume 3 and continues in volume 4 of the LN, and I only recall one character getting that treatment.

I think Ishizawa is the only one who get any redemption, but not from Chinatsu. There are other terrible characters that never get redemption, like Chinatsu's father.

Bloody Hells! Get that fuckface, girlie, defend your man!!

Honestly I think Chinatsu-chan was seconds from taking a swing at that dude. Tension was so high I think one could taste it.
