I don't really want to talk too much crap cause I actually like this story. But this story arc is pretty dumb. This guy is just like the cliche of the edgy anti-hero that plagues japanese stories. He is powerful, He is filled with his own righteous cause, He has the stereotype haircut and facial features and even his family is dead. I also awalys hate it when I see a girl get killed. This story arc just clashes with the rest of the comedy romance between the MC and the king.

Does he not recognize the hypocrisy of his action: witnessing his family member slaughtered, his own little sister a kid and himself being made play things for soldiers, he decided to become a mercenary and is willing to kill kids to "protect" the girl he like against her will? he's no better than the garbage soldiers, all the way down to killing monster kids. wait till the little shit thinks eating monster meat will grant him powers or some shit, he'll be chomping on monster flesh like Mcdonalds
