The art is so expressive despite, or perhaps because of it being so janky. Really neat. It conveys more of what the characters feel than physical reality, which is sick.

That one panel of the car is a great example. The perspective is strange, but it really gets the sense of starting up a car across.

yeah like, subject matter aside, I found this first chapter really charming for that reason.

I've been reading too many fluffy romcoms, my first reaction was "wife material!" which honestly feels just a little off base.

This made me think of another manga about the cat-and-mouse game between two dudes in a cabin up in the mountains. Both carry their own sins but one is definitely more guilty than the other... I wonder if this one will be similarly thrilling up until the final reveal.
