I really like the detail of the man holding his jagarico like a cigarette before revealing that he smokes. Also, considering his flashbacks have a knife and in his seat is a gun, I wonder if this might be another red herring.

Society wants Murder to be bad; hence, it's bad
Like in war, murder is applauded.
But in a peaceful place, where something like murder, will disturb the peaceful nature, is bad
But the thing is, if murder wasn't bad, then it's not just that you can murder; it's that you will get murdered too.
Actually it's true in peaceful society too
Kill a human, and you get hanged. Yeah, it's to give justice, and fear to people, to say that, if you believe murder is good, then get ready to get murdered too
