I never denied what was mentioned about the king. The ravaging of the lands is clearly mentioned in the manga, although there is nothing that implies any of it was done to harm Highserk. If anything, it's actually implied it was done to harm Ferrius instead, since that's with whom they were at war at the time. The negative emotions of the Myard people also are not something I ever put into question. You're arguing points I never touched
Where did you come to the conclusion that it was to harm Ferrius? Myard was supported by Ferrius, the manga even clearly states that it was the combined forced of Myard and Ferrius that trampled the Canoa country (chapter 1, page 32).
And its only logical why they did it. Canoa lost the war, the duke betrayed his nation and retreated towards Ferrius establishing his own nation. Highserk now had to deal with the scorched earth in the territory that they annexed.
All of these things are stated in the manga.

It does make sense to me. It's a coward who ran away to further lands at the prospect of war, so he burnt down the lands so neither would get them or want to get to his new ones.
However, you're still not talking about the main point we were talking about and just going off to the tangent

Myard was never at war with Ferrius... If they were why would the King retreat there from the Highserk army? They're both a part of the 4 nation alliance.

Myard was a grand duchy. The king of Kanoa was both a king and also the grand duke of Myard. For some reason or another, be it pressure from Highserk or pressure from Myard, the king of Kanoa abandoned his kingdom and fled to his duchy, selling it to Myard. Despite having sold his kingdom, he still pillaged it and burnt it down with Myard's troops way before the war with Highserk started. It makes absolutely no sense in that context for the king to scorch the lands down to spite Highserk. At the very least, it would make sense to do it to harm the new owners of that land, Myard

I don't remember it being written anywhere in the manga that Myard where the aggressors and they responded in kind
More specifically, there was a kingdom between Highserk and Ferrius known as the kingdom of Kanoa. Youth Myard, Rita’s, father, seceded from kanoa, allied with ferrius, and then started taking over Kanoan lands, leading to the creation of the principality of Myard. This is part of why the Kanoans hate Myard and kill him brutally earlier in the manga, after they’ve been recruited by Highserk. This is also why ferrius was fighting alongside Myard earlier in the manga during the Myard annexation war. The reason Highserk attacked Myard was because a former kanoan lord was clashing with them on the border, and Highserk basically just said fuck it we ball and wiped the lord out in just 6 days. The other reason the kanoans hate Myard is because they engaged in scorched earth tactics to delay Highserk after this incident to delay their advances. I encourage you to check out the wiki I put together way back in the day for more info!

Copied from the wiki:
The Kingdom of Kanoa used to be a thriving kingdom between the Highserk Empire and the Kingdom of Ferrius. After the beginning of a 5 year conflict with the Highserk Empire, the Myard Grand Duke, who was a former Kanoan nobleman, betrayed the Kingdom of Kanoa and defected to the Kingdom of Ferrius. The Kingdom of Ferrius and Myard then sent a combined army which mercilessly trampled over Kanoan land, employing scorched Earth tactics that left destruction and devastation in their wake. The Myard Grand Duke then siezed the remaining Kanoan territories, assuming the role of a monarch and establishing the autonomous nation known as the Principality of Myard. However, the Principality of Myard was not destined for long-lasting glory. Several years later, it suffered a decisive defeat at the hands of the formidable Highserk Empire, marking the conclusion of the Myard Annexation War.

The heinous actions perpetrated by the Kingdom of Ferrius and the treacherous Myard Grand Duke have deeply scarred the collective memory of the Kanoan people. Their resentment and animosity are particularly directed towards Myard and the ruling sovereign, Youth Myard, who symbolized the painful history and oppression endured by the former Kingdom of Kanoa.

And this too:
A clash between a Kanoa lord and the Highserk Empire ensued over control of a river, culminating in the Kanoa lord's defeat within a mere six days, with the Highserk Empire claiming all of their lands. The Kingdom of Kanoa, finding itself at odds with the Highserk Empire, experienced further defeat before the combined forces of the Kingdoms of Ferrius and Myard embarked on a ruthless campaign of scorched Earth tactics, leaving destruction and devastation in their wake. The remaining territories of Kanoa that had not been taken by Highserk were subsequently seized by the Myard Grand Duke, Youth Myard, who assumed the mantle of a monarch and established the autonomous Principality of Myard. However, the Principality of Myard, not long after its establishment, also faced defeat at the hands of the Highserk Empire during the Myard Annexation War. The Highserk Empire emerged triumphant once again, further solidifying its position as a dominant force in the region.

I appreciate it when people are inspired by a series and write down wikis to help others, but let's remember that the manga is not the light novel. Just like how there's countless examples of LNs not following the WNs, mangas not following the LN, series, movies or theatre plays not following the original sources and adding, replacing or removing content of their own, there is no reason to believe what was not told us in the manga but is said in the original source still holds true.
It's possible that what you said is the real lore behind everything that is happening, but if it's not mentioned in the story, then it is up to interpretation, and with only the things we've seen so far, the only aggressor has been Highserk (and technically also Myard against Kanoa, but Myard's intentions haven't really been explained anywhere in the manga and personally I find their actions questionable to say the least)
