We the jury find the dark elf not guilty of attempted murder, due to her smiling. The judge responds, that's the fifth one this month. We sure are getting a lot of "not guilty" verdicts lately. I'm sure it's fine though. No one could possibly be a murderer and have such a happy smile. /sarcasm.
How dumb are these people? She stabbed you in back with a sword. She killed you. That wasn't an accident or mistake. She did it because the man she loves, wants the woman you love (probably) added to his collection, and wanted you dead. She's definitely a bad person. Who knows what other crimes she helped him commit. Now that's not to say she can't try and change. I'm all in favor of a redemption arc. But it has to be earned. Japanese authors are far too forgiving of evil characters; especially women.
