They should spread the soft power of otaku culture in the new world to mask their military strength. With so many potential weebs, they might be able to dominate that world without facing future resentment for any past totally unpopular decisions.

Oh wait...

Thank you for the amazing update!

Do they ever explained where all the US bases and personnel in Japan are? If Iwakuni airbase exists, the US Marines should be there

I just realized they use JoJo "to be continued" arrows. Looked back, and apparently it has been since ch1...
It's not a "Jojo" thing, it's the publisher. Kadokawa and Square Enix, as far as I know, both have a signature "to be continued" style.

It’s interesting that they’re talking so much about Iwakuni Air base but not mentioning the fact it’s a joint US marine base. They’ve really just kinda ignored the massive US military presence in Japan completely, would’ve been a pretty cool arc to see how they handled US/ Japanese relations right after this happened because you know the military would lock down and wouldn’t just instantly follow Japanese command.
wait

may Japan blessed with some US tech temporary there then haha

That city with hovering segways, but still using floppy disks...
Floppy disks that can store video feeds, as it happens...
US anti-air defenses(the Navy's version if I'm remembering right) still use a bespoke version of Windows XP serviced directly/only by Microsoft.
Now that's something I'd love to get my hands on, Musk-sized budget be damned!

I saw floating 60s/70s car and a floppy disk, What the hell is that futuristic looking nation? It's like straight out of a retro future comic.

I've read the web novel of this one, but haven't tried the light novel. How different is the light novel compared to the web novel?

There are differences some added, some cut, not going into spoilers there's plenty of additional chapters and two gaiden volumes.

It's the Holy Mirishial Empire, the top superpower in the Central World.
Their military power is based on magitech and reverse-engineered examples from the Ancient Sorcerous Empire. Their magic is advanced but their scientific understanding is lagging behind, which is what is keeping them from being able to take full advantage of the magitech they have, and it also means they can't mass produce the best examples of Ancient magitech weapons.

If I remember correctly, they had examples of Ancient Sorcerous fighter jets that would have placed them in the mid- to late-Cold War tech level, but because they don't understand the science behind the metallurgy or of supersonic design and engineering principles, the performance of their standard fighters are just at the level between WW1 and WW2.
Far superior to anyone else, even Mu who has just barely reached WW1 tech (and is still mostly in Russo-Japanese War tech levels), but if anyone comes by with a WW2 tech level then the Mirishialans are going to have a bad day.
