Wait, hold up. Is infrared radar a thing? Not the weather reader, the one that show location and such. Cmiiw but doesn't radar only read a reflected sonar beam from metal?
If it's satellite, it would be impossible to launch one in days but if maybe one orbiting satellite also got transported then yeah.

Interesting theory, but I can still argue with how the dragon is raised (in human preferred environment) I don't think they can get enough iron to make a whole scale. Even then to mineralize it to scale shaped or just simply adding minerals to the scale's compound. The recorded animal in earth that can mineralize iron and such is Scaly-foot gastropod as far as I remember. They live in deep sea near an active volcanic which is contaminated with metals and minerals, and their diet is also a factor. But even then they can only make mineralize scale and in low percentage, like a tinsy bit of iron at their shell, as an layer of iron sulfides at the outer layer shell.
Well, there is still magic in this world so maybe like they materialize iron in their gut by processing mana from the air. I still don't get the gist of magic in this world, but one thing is certain is they can materialize and make a reaction by the looks of it (I mean the magic canon and fireball).
