so, basically a country around WW1 level tech came to this world, and stagnated because they were so much further ahead of everyone and didn't have other countries scientists to bounce discoveries off of. And now meeting a country that lived through an exponential tech growth age. Which leads to the idea that Japan will probably stagnate while in this world after a few years of tech left in the research pipe exhausts itself, plus some slow improvements here and there.

Unless they attempt to bring other nations into the same tech & education level, and then it would still be several generations before any kind of tech race begins again.

If they can start learning about magic, even if they can't use it, they might be able to create a mechanical/magical breakthrough. Example, using magic instead of electricity or oil as a source of energy

I have a hunch this is where the plot starts to go downhill. Seems as if the author is just making things up as he goes on and nothing is coherent or sensible. First, we have a medieval country with magic, then 1800s, demons, Japan lite, Mongolia, China, and now a 1920s country. You'd think that all these countries would haul ass to be on the same level with Mu, and Mu would study how to incorporate magic/magic users into their inventions. But no. Each country lives in their own comfort zone, as if separated by different time era. It's starting to feel a bit boring, for the lack of a better word.
