It's a facet of cosmic horror that humans are on the bottom of the food chain, entities see humans like humans see ants, and there's no "beating" them, only surviving them. There won't ever be a permanent solution because there is no way for a human to even conceptually understand the level of the cosmic being, let alone fight it. The human mind breaks down at that level. Asama will never gain a super saiyan form, he's just a psychic doing his best to survive in a world where cosmic Great Ones are descending and eating gods and humans. In fact, in some cosmic horror series, if humans survive despite these god-eating monstrosities being omnipresent...then humans are in fact being farmed by said monstrosities for reasons utterly incomprehensible to the humans.I hope they'll go back there and deal with the situation more permanently, a big shame of horror and supernatural stories is that everything end up open ended (and not in a good way, in a 'you only got half the story' way) and you end up with so many 'unstoppable' entities on the lose, the setting stop making sense as to why humans even still exist.
If horror could be fixed, it wouldn't be horror.I hope they'll go back there and deal with the situation more permanently, a big shame of horror and supernatural stories is that everything end up open ended (and not in a good way, in a 'you only got half the story' way) and you end up with so many 'unstoppable' entities on the lose, the setting stop making sense as to why humans even still exist.
You're not at the bottom of the chain if 50000 Bajillion active cosmic threats are active at once and can't even shake society at large. It's a facet of cosmic horror that humans are on the bottom of the food chain,
Horror isn't horror when it's laughably impotent even when unchallenged. If horror could be fixed, it wouldn't be horror.
It's mentioned several times that Gerai can make you forget everything related to it (aside from that granny at the beginning, what was her deal anyway), and at the end of this arc our two MCs have clearly forgotten everything that happened, so yea they're probably not gonna solve this case anytime soon.I hope they'll go back there and deal with the situation more permanently, a big shame of horror and supernatural stories is that everything end up open ended (and not in a good way, in a 'you only got half the story' way) and you end up with so many 'unstoppable' entities on the lose, the setting stop making sense as to why humans even still exist.
Honestly that aspect of it was so frustrating, it's probably why it go axed despite all the dangling plot threads (which the author wasn't really doing much with, let's be honest). Like the male MC's weird 'when I'm about to die, some demon emperor shows up and eat the other suprnaturals' thing that ended up never explained or expanded upon. But then there's series like Scary Campus College University, where they do have the ability and strength to fight back, but sometimes they simply leave things be for no reason (the chapter with the weird sea creatures, and yes someone did fill the request form so it counts).
