Often, I think it’s product of the older generation’s “I lived through difficult time and survive” and it became their definition of “normal”.Oh, my granddaughter is being lured by a Godlike eldritch entity that will consume her if she go outside? Better let my grandson take care of her 24/7 without asking other people for help. I’m sure he won’t burn out and everything would turn out just fine!
The Cenobites from Hellraiser didn't consider themselves evil in the least. They are here to save you from the real evil: boredom.Kids these days. Always going on about making pacts with the fae and becoming friends with the uncanny eldritch beings that occupy the sideways spaces in their houses. Never understand the consequences because they’re so tied up in their black and white moralities. So what if it isn’t evil or doesn’t have bad intentions? You have no idea what it a ”gift” from it actually look like. If anything amoral beings, or beings with moralities outside our understanding, are MORE terrifying and common than something as banal as “evil spirits”.
Oh, my granddaughter is being lured by a Godlike eldritch entity that will consume her if she go outside? Better let my grandson take care of her 24/7 without asking other people for help. I’m sure he won’t burn out and everything would turn out just fine!
I got the opposite impression from Granny. "I'm sorry, I knew you had a strong sense of responsibility yet I..." - She just wanted Hiro to keep an eye on his sister and try to keep her in the house, not make it his whole life.Often, I think it’s product of the older generation’s “I lived through difficult time and survive” and it became their definition of “normal”.
Like, there are less people back then, and less things in their hand. In grandma’s time, she’s probably home schooled by her own parents and relatives, for the duties she is supposed to do for the future. Friends would also be from the inner circle of relatives in-the-know, everyone is relatively in a clear position, or know what came with the Asama name. They have time to focus on the job, and it’s their learning to survive these creatures when they’re adults.
Hiro didn’t have such luxury. He got school, and other people around ridiculing him.
Too much things in hand, too much ideas to worry about.
So grandma just think “well, a little busier, but I also often have to push myself back then, so he should be too"
Also, after time, the older people probably don’t feel as deep anymore about their peers who did fail the natural selection back then.
At this point man, it's more like whoever can actually mind their own business survives, and whoever can't is a ticking time bomb. It's not like they can actually do shit about it, literally they told her NOT to do that shit. Reminds me of a certain someone. This is truly lovecraftian, looking for answers is looking for doom.Oh, my granddaughter is being lured by a Godlike eldritch entity that will consume her if she go outside? Better let my grandson take care of her 24/7 without asking other people for help. I’m sure he won’t burn out and everything would turn out just fine!
Probably the latter, but also we've seen that the particulars of physics is kinda wack when it comes to embodied spirits in this series.sometimes the body horror in this manga has me confused. like, is that flesh protrusion real real or just a spiritual aspect only he can see? I feel like her head would be really wobbly in the first case
The censors are a bit adverse to gore, so they have to do that to give off a similar horror vibe without getting an adult rating.I love this manga but I have to say, 90% of all horror mangas is just human body drawn in weird shapes
