In an earlier chapter, Asama's younger sister tells him that the spirits she plays with also calls humans "ghosts". So, in a way, just as we consider our viewpoint the "normal" and the spirits "abnormal", for the spirits themselves it's us that are the aberrant ones. I wonder if that also applies to the deity level cosmic horrors. What do they see themselves, other horrors, and us as?
