DAMN IT! you guys made me like this! for some reason when I read "I can't stop the rising anticipation" I read it as "I can't stop the rising of the shield hero"
I glanced at the WN, it looks more like it is actually synergy with the skill of the girl he meets at the end.
Her skill makes buff items but is weak partly due to limits on how many people can carry (seemed to be an exponential increase in weight the more that are carried), but his skill acts as a work around and he can equip multiples easily stacking their boosts
EDIt : Sorry, missed something a bit later
In ch 10 he finds out He has a 2nd skill he, and the party, do not know about that strengthens his companions based on his load. Apparently it is a rare skill that seems to manifest in bullied individuals who have been made to carry luggage.
The party starts having issues because they are lacking the buff they did not know about.
That and thee guy they give the bag to is not good at using it, guess it does not have the convenient item you want is always on top like is common in magic/RPG storage bags
So comically, over-the-top cruel. Like, they could have at least waited until they got back to town before firing him, instead of beating the shit out him and leaving him for dead
Right. I understand the idea of firing someone useless, or in this case easily replaced by a tool.
But why this trend of kicking them out in the depth of a dangerous place?
Is this the only way the authors can think of establishing that the team is evil? Some do a slightly better job by firing the MC in town at least, and use other ways to signify how nasty the team (leader or whole team) can be.
One question though...
What would happen if you combine this special backpack with his unique skill? Would he be able to carry 50,000 of... whatever the unit is?
They could so easily have avoided the lawsuits for murder if they just did not do that. Or even if there is no proof to stick on them, they are still suspected of it and gets eyes on them that they could have avoided. Not to mention the suspicions making it harder to find party-members. Who would you rather join as a high-ranked sought-after employee - the party that has never had any deaths, or the one that has and there's even rumors that they might have caused it themselves since directly after they reported it they suddenly got an item making that member obsolete?
Picking up proof (the keepsake) and selling it is just extra stupid, making it possible to track them down as thieves too.
