Novel is/was? on Wuxiaworld, the official one with real people doing work not the aggregator with the same name.

Reviews said it was shit, never tried it out.

Stopped reading on Wuxiaworld after they instituted random paywalls. I mean I understand it, but all the more I love Wikipedia. The day Wikipedia has paywalls, is the day humanity collapses. Even ads will be fine but not paywalls.

@BuffSoul The novel is pretty good once you get past the first arc that's basically the usual BS of "get attacked, beat up attacker, piss off their backer, run from backer, get stronger, beat backer, piss off backer's backer, etc". After that - AKA once he gets out of his starting city - it's pretty good for the vast majority of its currently 1561 translated chapters, although there are a few small sections (max 30 short chapters, ~45 min of reading or 5~10 min of skimming if you want to go that route) that are kinda dull, but they're plot advancement.

And there's no paywall for NSHBA, and there won't be until several months after it's fully translated.

Now, all of that being said, the translation quality of the novel is miles above the quality of the manhua translation. Honestly, if I hadn't read the novel, I wouldn't be able to understand half of what's going on here

Yeah I have to agree with @CaTasrophy427. NSHBA has a slow build but I'm enjoying it and personally recommend it rather highly.

WTF is this shit....

Don't want to talk bad about it but read the first 3 chapters and it seems to balance out a bit more but the chapters before it feel like have GIANT HOLES. It takes giant leaps all over the place....

It’s great that this was made into a web comics! Makes me remember those satisfying face-slapping moments delivered by the shameless MC, cultivating his face-slapping arts to divine level! 😂👍

True, but look at the translation...
Looks to me that he just uses google translate and then copy/paste.
At least in this version there's some interpretation work done and a good proofreading.

This is an amazing story... one of my favorite.
From reading the novel I have long waited for this adaptation but... its far from what I imagined.
Anyway thank you for uploading this.

As for the translation, I think "Pill Sovereign" is better than "Emperor Dan" because the later will be confusing when stages of an alchemist are introduce (Pill King, Pill Emperor, Pill Sovereign, etc). Moreover, "Pill" is better than "Dan".
Add a TN for the author's word play of "Long" and "Dragon".

Don't look at the scores, I have read the novel, and I have to say it is one of the best wuxia novels you can ever read.

Please give this a try it is very good.

Also you can tell that people just rate it 1 just because its chinese or the translation might not be the best, not an actual representation of how good the story is.

On Wuxiaworld it is a higly recommended novel

This is one of those stories where it's gonna feel kind of generic for the first 100 chapters, but then builds itself into the most amazing thing you've ever read. Reading this after 1600 or so novel chapters makes this adaptation seem frustrating. But to be honest, Long Chen doesn't start becoming the bad-ass, domineering, rogue, smart-ass, king of posing, master of the face-slap and groin-kick, and crazy con-man we love until he unites his first school and comes to realize that his cultivation technique requires him to dominate people rather than being sneaky. Compared to the kind of wild ride this story ends up going on, the beginning part with his hometown is by far the most forgettable aspect. It's not bad, but simply average compared to the level of laugh out loud awe experienced later.

I don't think this art style fits the novel. way to pretty boy when Long Chen is super manly and wild.
