That's what we were told earlier. Though it was "only one can live" situation. I.e. either one eats the other or they both die.

Ryu is exempt from the "onlye one" rule because both souls (Ryumatsu's and Princess Ryuu's) were on the verge of death. Furthermore, it was implied that Ryumatsu is keeping princess soul from dying/leaving.

?? It's clearly implied that wholesale slaughter is happening -- Ryu isn't everywhere. So if you want to drop it because of rape, pillage, murder, cannibalism, etc. ... that's still going on; it's just off-screen. Also, aside from the demons, there's still plenty of horrible humans doing horrible things to other people.

God damn do I love this Manga so much but at the same time I swear half the time I have no clue what is going on until I reread it a few times… which has gotten a whole lot harder since the purge.

I'll just remind that the official English translation is out, and it's not far behind this translation. Vol 15 is coming out later this month (April 2026.)

off-screen is quite a ways away from bringing explicit attention to it.

I'll always remember Akame Ga Kill as having absolutely batshit cruel villains yet the author never even implying rape to any extent even once.
