Yyyep… Chitoge is revealed to also be a potential ‘promise girl’. To be honest, it’s kind of predictable, but I think it’s a good kind of predictable. At least in the anime, I know this ends up confirmed between the two of them at Chitoge’s birthday party. I assume the manga does the same when the time comes, but I will see. So far, a lot of stuff is lining up with that I saw in the anime. Still nice to see this version.
There’s actually at least one more, but I hate her so god damn much. She’s the pushiest, shittiest girl in the series, to me. There’s also the fact that I am not a fan of characters, especially women, changing themselves consciously like she does to make herself more appealing to her prospective partner, only compounded by the fact those changes are based on an outdated perspective on the partner’s ideal spouse. I mean, changing yourself for someone isn't inherently bad, but the way she goes about it is so warped I can't help but feel like she's doing herself a disservice.
At least Chitoge is herself the whole way through, and is a decent person, ultimately- her and Raku just had a very bad first meeting and introduction to each other, so much that they started hating each other and became stubborn about it. But they‘re both not bad people. I mean, everyone should see by now that Chitoge is only really mean to Raku (and Shu, but he kinda deserves it for the shit he pulls), and I can understand why she struggles to be nice with all the friction between them.
