Me thinks he doth protest too much about his feelings. He doesn't realize his feelings are already shifting. He's already growing fond of Chitoge, little by little. He wants to see her smile. He wants to see her happy. He just doesn't realize it. That's why he tries so hard to be there for her when he knows she's suffering, even now. And it's only going to grow with time.

Sure, he'll have progress with Kosaki, and he has that crush on her, but... I feel like it'll be too little, too late by the time he finally realizes how important Chitoge has become to him, later in this story, as I'm quite confident he will. I don't know it for sure, but I feel like it's a foregone conclusion. This coming from a guy who would totally want to be there for Kosaki, but it's quite clear to me where Raku's heart will lie when it's time to ante up everything, and it's not with the sweet-shop girl.

And right away, interacting with Chitoge, she's already reacting more like a girl legitimately in love this chapter. That legitimate blush of a girl falling in love. To be honest, outside of her behavior with Raku, she's actually a really sweet girl, herself. People claiming she's 'insufferable' from the first few chapter comments didn't notice how she actually behaves with other people. She's far kinder with everyone else. Only Raku pushed her buttons, and vice versa. And it's honestly because they're just so similar in just the wrong ways that they were bound to have friction upon their reunion. But the more they spend time with each other, the more comfortable and familiar they will get, the less friction will happen. And then, eventually, all that will be left is fondness between two people just similar enough in just the right ways.

Anyway... that misunderstanding at the end... He's trying to protect her dignity, and she thinks it's because of the main subject of the photo. Gonna set Kosaki's confidence back a ways. Chitoge will gain even more of a lead without even realizing it with that girl's continued hesitation. It's shit like this that makes it so Kosaki is hard-pressed to be the 'winning' girl. It's shit like this that makes a 'losing heroine'.
