No shit- they’re such a good duo. They just don’t know it yet. Even if they’re just for laughs, they work so damn well. (Edit: it really is a shame he’s got that crush on Kyoko-sensei, but that’ll get resolved closer to the halfway point, from what I can tell with chapter titles- it got adapted into a late Season 2 episode titled Support, and I know I saw a chapter titled that in the middle volumes)
Anyway, this whole festival sequence was great. Loved seeing it animated in episode 17 of season 1. Sure, he got to spend time with Kosaki, but there was so much more progress with Chitoge, it’s not even close. They really need to get past this stubborn streak they have with each other, then it’d be smooth sailing. When the destined couple are basically tsundere to each other.
