That's the idea: she'll be the sole heir of the shop. On the other hand, she'll have to hire a cook or marry Ichijou Raku in order to make sweets to keep the business afloat.

reading stuff like this makes me feel wistful:aquadrink:
also that part where Onodera corrected herself and then Ichijou said he'd be envious of her husband, can you get anymore direct than that without actually saying it that you like someone? like take a hint
Also the ending with Ichijou and Onodera just gives me depression since this is my 2nd time reading it. Anytime they have moments like that but go nowhere:fml:

The way they dance around each other really is depressing, especially with my expectation of how this story is meant to end. I'm pretty sure it's not meant to be between them. But they keep fooling themselves into thinking maybe, just maybe... It sure does seem like a great match, doesn't it? But they're just so pessimistic and shy about each other that they can't really progress that last step.

By the time they would work their shit out, Raku will probably realize he actually loves Chitoge as much or even more than he does Kosaki. That's the way I'm seeing it, at this point. These chapters between these two just tease a relationship that might have been doomed the moment Chitoge collided her knee with Raku's face, which was the first interaction between Raku and a girl, after the initial flashback premise establishment, that was depicted in this story.

If Chitoge didn't come here, maybe Raku and Kosaki would have gotten together eventually. But Chitoge is here, now. There's a reason for her being here, with Raku the way they are now. Raku just needs to search his own heart and realize it is already conflicted. What if that conflict is why he keeps flubbing confessions with Kosaki? His heart knows he's not actually serious and forces him to reel back at the last moment. But it's the only love he's known for years, now, before Chitoge, and he started out so fiercely against associating with the fiery blonde he can't see what's right there.

Also... is everyone forgetting that Haru exists? What is this talk about 'sole heir' when Kosaki has a sister that's actually a competent cook, and seems to enjoy working at the shop? She also seems to have an inner fire that would be great for spear-heading the shop's business-side.

I'm reminded of how, in March Comes in Like a Lion, the elder two Kawamoto sisters both work at the family sweets shop, but the younger of the two seems far more business savvy than her older sister, similarly having an inner fire that pushes her forward where her older sister would shrink. In many ways, Hinata is more mature for her age, while Akari is kind of a ditz. Other characters seem to underestimate Hinata's maturity, as well, and some of the audience have misread that character perspective as a stated fact instead of what it should be: an unreliable narrator.
