As a tgirl seeking romance manga that shows a positive depiction of people like myself, I found this to be an insanely frustrating experience to read. I seriously can't believe i wasted hours of my day reading this in one sitting.
This is one of those manga where things get messier and messier until it all comes crashing down at the end. In the beginning, the story is set up like a typical straight guy x trans/crossdresser friend arc that you see a lot in the genre. These usually do the whole "but he's a guy" -> confusion boner -> jealousy -> acceptance thing. Yuki is built up as a very sweet and caring person, and you just want to root for her and for the MC to get over it. The MC starts showing physical affection and sexual curiousity towards Yuki, but this is then sidelined all of a sudden for a random cis girl relationship with a bland "prettiest girl in school" character. At this point, I figured they would use this as some sort of meta commentary on what defines being straight, as the MC begins cheating on his new girlfriend with Yuki. It's wild to me how she still continues to support and encourage his relationship while this is happening, but this part was kind of hot tbh because they were both really into it and is honestly the clearest point where the MC openly wants her😶 That being said there's a weird trope of tgirls in manga doing stuff like this where they allow the one they love to be with someone else because they're so desperate and have low standards or something which is wack. It would have been interesting to see how the MC would react to her getting involved with another guy and how he would have struggled with those feelings of jealousy vs his own relationship.
The story only gets worse as it starts branching into a harem type thing, even the fucking teacher which he had zero romantic feelings with ends up quite literally sucking him off as a form of repayment which is so random and disturbing. He gets flanderized into this horrible character that can only think with his dick and lie, and pretty much every girl that he finds gets inserted into his tangled mess of bullshit. The story then takes it's biggest cliffdive as the author retcons the childhood friend connection between the MC and Yuki (she remembered how he liked high-up places in chapter 1 remember that), basically planting an excuse for why they won't end up together outside of "but he's a guy". His relationship finally ends when the girlfriend finds out the two have been living together, but instead of the MC and Yuki rekindling their feelings after the breakup, Yuki ends up fucking outing herself in front of the entire school all for the sake of saving this man's relationship even though he's cheated on her so much😭😭 It's such an unexplainable sacrifice and soon after that there is a really disturbing arc where Yuki detransitions and isolates herself from everyone by "acting like a man", and although it's sweet to see her arc conclude with her embracing her identity at the end an be accepted by the school even after knowing she was born male, the author's bullshit excuse comes to fruition and she instantly loses interest in the MC. He's left off with the bland girl he cheated on a million times and that's supposed to be a happy ending? I guess I'm happy for Yuki not being involved with him anymore but like what the fuck did I just read bro whyyyy😭😭
