I skimmed parts of that to avoid the spoiler, but I can empathize with the editing issues of serialized novels. I'm a bit reassured to continue this mystery box story. Science and your added editing pass are strong draws!

Reading this summary I'm dropping this.

Authors need to "outsmart" readers is pathetic.

Instead of developing compelling story and sticking to it author decided to shoot themselves in the foot by changing it just because someone guessed plot development.

That in general is the mark of an exceptionally bad author. As a writer that sounds so fucking petty and heinous. People invest their time and emotions for your story, actively trying to screw them over, because you want to prove yourself to be "smarter" than the readers or because they slighted you by figuring something out they shouldn't have is disgusting.
