The Ikko-Ikki where a sect of buddhism, they have different beliefs and practices than other groups
I read around a bit. And this seem to be the the case here. Like Ikko Ikki are fine with eating meats. And apparently Concubines could be closer to acting secretaries or personal attendees to thier caretakers and not necessarily were having sex with them. It mostly depend on the status and position of the man concubine was sworn too. For example for Chinese Emperors of later dynasties, concubines were mostly to create ties and alliances with noble houses and other wealthy and influential groups or persons and to produce spare heirs.
