I did have a feeling that he wouldn't actually be able to change anything particularly meaningful, hope I'm wrong.

One thing that's different here is that Ken is now actively trying to change history.

Ken's actions throughout the story so far is just him going with the tide. Many times he knew what was going to happen, and decided not to intervene to change the course. Nobunaga didn't get shot back at the Honganji siege not because there were multiple time travelers involved. But it's because Ken had to deal with Matsuda who was actively trying to change history. The timeline might diverge here now that Ken has loosened his first arrows.

But then, there's also a tragically delicious note to a grand house that never got to meet its master. ☹️ Shit, if Ken had stayed and had the opportunity to show Mitsuhide around that house, he might just understand.

I get that money and donations is a really uncomfortable topic but I feel the need to bring the topic up again, especially because of the translators credit page note from this chapter, as well as the way discussions went from the chapter 274 thread.

But are people still feeling the same way they did after numbers have been revealed now? I still find the amount of negativite comments and assumptions made against SSScans to be completely absurd.

You don't have to donate, and there's nothing wrong with that. But saying so much crap to a guy whose been translating since chapter 136 and who now fully intends to finish it, even after all the amount of money but also time and effort. Seriously, I'm surprised the man is still pushing out chapters for us after everything thats been said and cannot be anymore thankful for his services.

I don’t get it. Is Akechi a senile psychopath? The implied honor motive doesn’t make much sense. I hope we have great dialogue explaining his position in the coming chapters.

that's the point.

it doesn't make sense according to our modern sensibilities.
but as shown at the island about 2 chapters back, even the peasants take the matter of honor very seriously.

The last few chapters point out that the old way of thinking can be ridiculous compared to the modern way; even Mochizuki commented on it for a bit. IIRC, there are a lot of examples of this; one which is pretty popular to depict in popular culture is Sati, a practice where a widow needs to die along with her deceased husband, which is ridiculous if you think about it now but probably made sense back then.

even today, in some part of the world, these things are still practiced.
for example, the honor killings of the middle-east muslim. and more recently, in europe by the cough refugees cough
