Mochizuki, probably the only guy in that era that comes close to matching Ken's skill as a chef, goes off to become a random, peasant farmer. Even if he doesn't want to serve Daimyos or Nobles, he can probably still do pretty well opening up his own small restaurant in some town like Sakai or something. Sure, he cooks for that Lord, but only once in a blue moon, because he's too poor to hire a chef full-time!
