I think it's implied that as an adult, she could not fit through the burning wooden beams, but her daughter could.

I must be seeing things but in no way does there appear to be any obstruction to block her from jumping.

I am not completely sure either, but in page 24 it seems there's a large beam on fire in front of her, in page 25 we don't see much except her pushing Kiyoko, and in page 26 we see a blurred silhoette. So I think it's that.
