I bet it's his twin and both are monster hunters, the dead one did try to kill her and failed to. Or it's the original, the dead one was a copy of some sort, used as bait to validate if takahashi was the monster targeted.

Fucking hell, if anyone was going to come back from the dead, did it have to be the pedo?

Monster hates Itou cuz Itou doesnt take any effort while the monster lives in fear of being found out if shes not normal.
Itou is a yandere who is like we better be friends forever or ill kill myself.
could be a good metaphor/social commentary but unless this world is established with "monsters are real in this world/doppelgangers exist" it'd be a pretty leap in logic from "That girl's a weirdo/not normal" to "She's clearly a monster in disguise" as well as scummy people 'reporting' to the authorities to make them disappear or so (though other than like some freelance/assassination organization versus a gov that hopefully wouldn't imprison innocent ppl, idk how much ppl can get away with that, other than just starting rumors/ruining their reputation [Tho, unless she's going after a specific 'taste' like that Love Eater manga, or ppl who threaten her, it feels like it can't be that hard to find a drunken salaryman to just devour versus the methodical serial killer attitude of being very specific with the targets])

But yeah other than targeting students/other teachers and then 'transferring', given how teenagers are shallow/fickle and scrutinize any odd behavior, being a 'teen' herself seems like it might be a risky choice unless she makes herself also 'attractive' enough to where being a 'weird beauty' is more accepted than the 'average looking person who acts odd so most ppl avoid them"

Or the author just wanted to draw a teenage yuri story with the monster girl theme

It looks like the monster is long lived and isn't known about by the public and that people call Itou a monster because shes weird as an insult rather than an accusation.

If they find out shes a monster, she has to kill them to leave no evidence, but if she becomes public knowledge then shes toast. Since shes aware of society and technology she knows that a group effort of armed humans would defeat her.

I really like that the outburst, argument and murder attempt has resulted in takahashi behaving more sincere with Itou. You can even see it in the kind of facial expressions she makes this chapter. There is less cheer, less gladness. It is a much more broad palette of emotions. She shows wearyness, contempt, she gets amused. Her monster-self, so to speak, is much more on the surface. (which makes sense, she knows Itou knows she plans to kill, so why even hide that now.)

Is it not an interesting development to take place that a relationship grows more sincere after one committed a murder attempt at the other?

Thank you for the chapter, hm... I thought based on the other artwork of him that Mr. Niehara was overweight? At first when he reappeared I thought it was perhaps the wormussy trolling Itou-san by showing that she had access to more then one human suit already, but I forgot they were in the same class so its nice to see Takahashi is just wtfbbq'd as Itou. Also she still seems to be salty over Itou spoiling her 4d chess move at Grandma's farm.

Now, that's a twist.

Well, we know Takahashi ate that guy, so it can't be him. So, a shapeshifter? But why pick that guy specifically?
probably because it's way easier to blackmail a monster by being it's previous victim to get food
