excellent chapter, thank you for translating!!
i guess regarding the red herring a few chapters ago, we now know that itou would know that its n who was the one who killed her student-friend, and not takahashi, does that mean n slips into a camouflage of takahashi without her consent anyways? cant wait for the next installment

Wow, yuri gore. Certainly a horror story but a neat backstory. I wonder what route this story will take. Our other monster seems to be having second thoughts while this one is killing right in front of us. I wonder how will the author will use that for the GL aspect. Although this could just be yearning and no relationship ever forms

Well, uh, I guess we found out who the student that dies on the school trip is

Unless of course this is another monster, which honestly, I would not entirely be surprised by.
I've been wondering for a while if this story may not end in a sort of apocalypse where it turns out that the density of monsters to humans is way higher than even the monsters knew, because they all became so good at pretending.
But we knew who was dying... a few chapters ago, all the events up to now was merely catching us up to this moment. But yes, it does leave the question of where this goes... our protag is doomed asf no matter what, unless... they get together... waaaaaaait?

Maybe the idea with the silkworms that Slenderman was in a similar position to a blind, defenseless silk worm destined to be boiled. Stories allowed them to gain eyes with respect to social relationships and therefore know to defend themselves. It makes a lot of sense this way. It is a sort of reference, just one internal to the story.

I also enjoyed JuniperPengold's post on dynasty-scans:
This adds so much to Niehara's character, especially as it relates to their gender presentation and the roles they take on. The first time they became human, they took on a very visibly feminine form. But the man who found them abused them because he recognized that them not being what most people would see as a human woman made them acutely vulnerable—they didn't have recourse to escape. Now, in the present, they present fem only when interacting with Itou, who they want to be close to, but take on the form of a man (and a man in a position of power—a teacher) to exert authority over others. It doesn't seem like a form they prefer, just one that they feel they need to be safe after being the victim of violence for such a long time. AND the whole thing about not being able to let anyone know their real past, having to make things up for their own safety and to be accepted, etc...
There is SO much to discuss regarding a transfem reading of Niehara.

I think she is jumping the gun a bit on the transfem reading, but it does seem like Slenderman adopts the female form when they are being more relaxed and honest. The male form is used for more monstrous behavior, like the apparent rape attempt in Chapter 11 that was used to draw out Takahashi.

OH MY GOD NOBODY CARES
goddammit suppose some care

I'm rather confident the fool does not know a good life when he sees one

It took you a thousand movies?

Ah yes casually weaponizing non-existent trauma to garner sympathy, as to be expected

Okay but why didn't you just stick to one story for awhile???
Why were you giving yourself so much to keep track of

I was wondering if I somehow hallucinated rapey behavior from the monster specifically and well... I don't think I do if the immediately move to force a kiss says anything
It got its sense of boundaries from that ass of a director as well
I've little to no care for one who takes what has happened to them and inflicts them on others, unknowingly or not

Huh...
Guess we're done playing games
Have a nice day
