I don't think that the thing whathshername did was a chargeable offence warranting arrest, not in this instance anyway. She's only helped arrange a meeting between two willing parties, and has not yet started the actual process of framing

Man, I am kind of disappointed they deviated significantly from the novel after the Lize wrap up. This new development is.... okay, not bad, developing characters that otherwise would've been left as is, but the characters they changed to get here is :(

It’s not really.

The problem is people complained so they deviated from the novel and tried to add in more punishments that occur sooner and it messes the whole thing up. In the novel the kidnapped kid plot happens after the main story is ended and it’s how Lizzy/Reese gets her punishment, but it’s not from framing it’s from buying a 12 year old slave and forcing them to pretend to be the long lost child with knowledge that only the family and kidnappers would have.

The Sinclar’s punishment in the novels is being humiliated by the Duke when they try and change the engagement or reclaim familial relations over Lizzy/Reese, as well as them wasting a lot of money they borrowed to buy an iron mine to sell iron to the Dukedom only for the King to give the rights to Edith’s family’s mine to the Duke as a reward.

She tried to harm her afterwards, so her being arrested makes sense.
