It always bugs me when manga about artists ends up with with them simply reproducing their own lived experiences in their art.
Same. It's particularly bad with web comic artists - there are so many dime a dozen, relatable, diary webcomics out there, where the main punchline of the comic is; "haha, has this ever happened to you guys?".
There's just something so narcissistic about it that always sort of turned me off, and also how brain numbingly repetitious it is, because yes we've all had times where we remembered awkward moments, and we know artists get art block - I don't need to read another flipping comic about it.
Anyway, rant aside, it's a little unfair to our MMC because he's just inspired by his life situations - he is still using made up characters (though it's debatable for his female character). Besides, it's got to be a little bit basic with how obvious his inspiration is, to make it crystal clear to the audience (us) just how much MMC's relationship with FMC is positively effecting his work.
Though I would like a chapter on how it seems to be almost a breach of privacy, airing out all your private intimate moments with your crush/lover like that, for the world to see.
