But like... I thought she knew this the whole time? The beginning of the manga is full of scenes where after the two interact BOTH of them are flustered. The first volume reads like she's got a thing for him, or at least is kinda into him, from the start.

Im ok with her finding out if she likes him or not, but she is trying to find reasons not to like him and she is losing me there. I like the childhood friend now, I HATE the fact that she is looking for an excuse and comparing him instead just finding out whats up

Yeah I really find this development weird.
Given her previous actions, I was only expecting her to be more flustered as she realized her feeling.
Not her doing 180 and rejecting him.

Unlike in Nisekoi, she wasn't reluctant at all about pretend dating him.
It's like she was denying their previous progress with hand holding and kiss under mask.
