true, compared to back then he's a completely different person ability-wise

lorraine even showed the village his fight with the tarrask turtle looking monster in the swamps and they didn't realize he got an astronomical power boost ?
my dude leave for 10 years and then comeback, if u r one of the villager r u expecting he is still the same when he leaving the village at 15 yo? if it was those guild staff and the adventurer ofc theyll surprised that the bronze guy known for staying at bronze for 10 years suddenly got powerup, thats why Rentt trying to disguise and then they found out that theres is a change of him.

Wait, what? Last chapter, they mentioned that they were calling "spirit" as "inner energy" now (as it's really "ki"), which if I'm recalling correctly since it's been a while, would make the three power types magic, holy and inner energy. But in this chap they call it magic, spirit, and inner energy, like spirit + inner energy are different things?

Man I hate when TLs swap terms in magic systems, lmao.

So why did his family need to die if they had this guy who’s a shounen battle manga level warrior on standby? Seems like their deaths suddenly were avoidable.
It also suddenly seems like maybe this is something he could have taught Rentt in the twenty year gap prior to now. It feels like him not being able to make full use of this form of energy is suddenly less about talent and more about teaching if it’s so intuitive that you just need to learn it through fighting and muscle building.

His great aunt actually being an incredibly skilled mage is another thing. You could write lack of strong magical ability off as talent, but it seems strange that they chose until just now to reveal it to him.
It really feels like an inadvertent retcon where they sent him out into the world underprepared on purpose.

We went from having a really great and emotionally moving series of chapters to whatever the hell this is.
