They thought the trap was the body, not the whole area. What an amateur adventurers, a good saboteurs always put more than two traps for a single locationSmelled something sus, kept on, saw something sus, set themselves up for a trap. Nice.

I mean they are literally amateur adventurers if they went on the trial mission with the MC.They thought the trap was the body, not the whole area. What an amateur adventurers, a good saboteurs always put more than two traps for a single location
Nah, the Body was the Lure, they didn't notice they where already close enough for the Trap to spring. A well done Trap makes sure that if you notice it's a Trap it's already too late and I expect Vampires are probably reeeally good at laying traps. As we saw the actual entrance was the trap so that the noticed so early is the reason at least two got out. Still, they should have bailed the moment they noticed the scent so still foolish. They thought the trap was the body, not the whole area. Exactly, the moment you found the fragrance you should have went back to report the oddity. That is what I would have done tooSo clever at noticing the signs of a very intelligent trap, not clever enough to notice that something intelligent laid that trap.
Perhaps you should vacate the area ASAP instead of analysing it. I would've turned around at "someone is using monster-attracting scent deep inside 2nd floor". Go back to the guild and report that.
They where investigating the missing person case and the Vampire thing came up "after" they already left as seen in the beginning of the chapter so they had no idea they would face Vampires. As a group they where plenty strong enough to handle that Labyrinth, just not a Vampire. But then again it is weird they sent that group to do the investigation. Author probably did it cause the characters are those we know, but otherwise they have 0 scouts and their party isn't strong enough to beat a vampire either. It is like sending sheep to track wolves
They were investigating missing person case because it maybe related to the vampires. They didn't know about the group but even 1 vampire would probably beat themThey where investigating the missing person case and the Vampire thing came up "after" they already left as seen in the beginning of the chapter so they had no idea they would face Vampires. No surprise, they dumped it on the Adventurers. Those usually have a different kind of skillsets and in that one they where also decent since they correctly identified the body as a trap on range. Hell the Boy might actually be a scout considering it was him that did. And I checked again to be sure and by their hefty reaction in the beginning they did not expect to encounter Vampires in the labyrinth. In fact once they knew they where told to recall them (too late). This really seems to have been a simple "missing person" search going by context. They were investigating missing person case because it maybe related to the vampires. And again, they have 0 scouts. You know people specialized at tracking others.
