When will people learn that the surest solution to a hedge maze is fire?
And the surest solution to a magic hedge maze is magic fire.

Kinda similar to the way that the surest solution to a regular labyrinth is to smash through the fuckin walls, though that takes longer. And in open-topped stone labyrinths, just climbing on top of the walls also works.

Have you ever tried to walk through a hedge? They're boundaries for a reason. They exist to prevent medium-sized creatures getting through. That includes humans. Very small children might manage it if they find the right spot, but they'd probably get a bit scratched up. And that is just one hedge. This is a whole maze of hedges.
So yeah, you can just burn down others mazes like that if you want to get through them.

I wonder why some authors love those cheap and blatant foreshadowing lines. If you want to foreshadow something, do it properly, not in text boxes.

Bro should just leave, he doesn't need this shit. They want him to do a job for them, and don't even have the courtesy to turn off the enchanted hedge maze when he comes to see them? Fuck that noise, ungrateful rich jerks

That whole maze part was pretty cool, especially if you listen to some somber slow music as you read through the chapter.

And I don't why people in the comments are saying he should just leave, the girl just said that it would be impossible to decline a request from this family so angering them is probably not a wise idea.. (Page 6)

Not to mention the family obviously wouldn't make him walk through the maze if they didn't want him to walk through the maze, for their own reasons. Logic dictates that if he says "Screw this!" and goes away, the request will be cancelled.

I mean, this isn't even foreshadowing. The author is sraight up telling us what's gonna happen next. Reeks of desperation, but given how ADHD the majority of modern audiences are and how many infinitely similar works they have to pick from, it's not really surprising.
